HICPAC Updating Isolation Precaution Guideline

A workgroup of CDC’s Healthcare Infection Control Practices Advisory Committee (HICPAC) has been reviewing and updating the 2007 Isolation Precautions guideline. The first draft of the new first section will be presented to HICPAC for a review and vote at a public meeting later this week, November 2-3. If HICPAC votes to approve the draft, it will then go to CDC for review before being posted for public comment, likely later in November. Please be assured that APIC is following this process carefully and we will keep APIC members informed about APIC comments on the draft update and about how APIC members can provide comments.
