GAO Report Identifies Actions to Improve IPC in Nursing Homes
The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report identifying actions to improve infection prevention and control practices in nursing homes. The report is based on recommendations of a panel of infectious disease specialists, nursing home staff and other experts convened by GAO to examine infection control practices in nursing homes. Many of the actions identified in this report are consistent with recommendations from prior reports, such as developing solutions to ensure adequate staffing and infection prevention training.
