The APIC Emerging Infectious Diseases Task Force was formed in 2022 to facilitate a rapid response process to novel pathogens. The task force is comprised of a liaison from the Education, Public Policy, Practice Guidance, and Communications committees, plus additional subject matter experts as needed, to help drive APIC’s response efforts and ensure coordination and consistency across varying APIC committees. It is envisioned that this task force may evolve into a longer-lasting group that will provide an infrastructure to ensure that APIC is nimble and timely in supporting our membership as new pathogens emerge.
